Things to do in Perth in September

Sun? Is that you? We can finally come out of winter hibernation because spring is here! The weather is warming up which means we can take advantage of the many things Perth has to offer. If you’re as excited about spring as we are, read on to find out what we think are the best things to do in Perth this September!

TAKE UP A CABERNET AND CANVAS CLASS

It’s time to embrace your inner van Gogh and flaunt your artistic flare during a Cabernet and Canvas social art class!

This spring, under the instruction of a professional artist you will work to recreate iconic artwork pieces such as Monet’s Japanese Bridge, van Gogh’s Starry Night or Signac’s Seine at St Clout. Sip on a delicious range of wine and enjoy some nibbles while being guided through painting your priceless masterpiece.

After your hard evening’s work, gift your finished treasure to someone special, showcase it proudly in your home or offer it to the Louvre Museum! You’ll feel delightfully inspired after this amusing workshop, and (after a few glasses of wine), think your artwork looks identical to the original!

Head to the Cabernet and Canvas website to attend one of their workshops located at various destinations throughout Perth and enjoy an encouraging atmosphere and great company.

Join us to watch Perth’s ultimate fried chicken lovers put forward their best birds and showcase their most impressive flavours to compete for this year’s ‘Golden Cock’ crown. Enjoy live music, drinks and games while indulging in some damn good street food.

ENJOY A SCENIC BIKE RIDE

Spring has sprung! Which means our Perth beaches will be transitioning from crashing waves to sunny skies and smooth shores. The coastline will make a spectacular cycle trail. We recommend starting from Hillarys Boat Harbour and venturing to Mullaloo Beach and back for a leisurely ride.

Don’t have a bike? Not a problem! You can hire bikes in the CBD to follow routes along the Swan River. Enjoy some light exercise while taking in the sweeping views of the city and skyline. You may even wish to stop for a coffee at Walters River Café!

For an afternoon escape, cycle at a slower pace beside the vineyards through the Swan Valley. Enjoy the raw, natural environment for a break from the busy city/suburban life. Sunsets in the Valley are seriously underrated, and you will be in awe as the sky changes colour. Make sure to wear sunnies, bring water and prepare your winter skin with a little sunscreen!

Of course, the Swan Valley is also home to the best variety of local wines, craft beers and ciders – so a taste testing is a must! We recommend The Llawn at Mandoon Estate, Ironbark Brewery, Elmar’s in the Valley, Feral Brewing Company or Sandaford Wines for an appetising late lunch or an afternoon drink!

The modern 50-metre heated pool is accompanied with a deep-water exercise pool, leisure pool, spa and sauna. If your bringing your bub, the facility also has an outdoor shaded toddlers pool perfect for a paddle.

The sophisticated facility is 5 star in our opinion and visitors can experience all of its advantages for a small entry fee. The facility even features a raised grass area, perfect for relaxing, sunbaking or partaking in some Yoga!
