Spring School Holiday Activities in Perth

Here’s our guide to stopping school holiday boredom and the annoying things kids do when they are bored. You’re welcome.
Pixar Putt

Disney fans were jealously observing  Pixar Putt wowing Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne this year. But just when we started to get resentful, thinking Perth was forgotten about, organisers announced that Pixar Putt is heading to RAC Arena!

In case you haven’t heard, everyone is talking about the pop-up Disney Pixar themed mini golf course. The bright and colourful 18 hole course will delight your kids’ imagination and make an epic daytime experience. Each hole is inspired by Disney Pixar favourites including The Incredibles, Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc, Toy Story and more.

So Instead of staying home watching Despicable Me for the hundredth time, why not get outside and take the kids to hang out with their favourite characters and play some quirky mini golf?

Your kids won’t be just observing all day… They can participate and let their imagination run wild designing their own creations in building zones. And if they’re talented, they may want to challenge themselves and compete in the rapid moc build or the speed build.

You can take some photos of your kids with the various Lego themed costume characters and there will even be the chance to drive a Lego remote controlled train or car!

Mind Buzz Minecraft Camp

You may be thinking, urghh not more Minecraft talk… we don’t understand the obsession either and honestly, sometimes conspire that the game is really a cult (jokes). But this is a golden chance for you to initiate some negotiation with your kid. They will be begging you go, so what better opportunity to pass on some house chores in exchange for a Minecraft Camp ticket. Plus it means you can get your 6-14 year old out of your hair for a while – it’s a win-win.

Here’s what your kid will want to know: The Minecraft classes will teach you new skills, let you play and connect on multiple servers and are great for all levels.  The day will start off with a team build shape challenge, then teams will learn crafting recipes and cyber safety. After a quick break, the next focus will be on commands and warps and teams will start a village build project. After lunch kids can have fun in a creative team build and compete in a skyblocks challenge.

The camps run from 8:50am to 3pm and are held at various locations in Perth including Joondalup, Bull Creek, Leederville, Cottesloe, Claremont and Cockburn.  Some sessions have already sold out so make sure you book soon!

The Perth Royal Show

We doubt your kid’s haven’t already hassled you enough about which showbags they want this year… But the Royal Show is rolling around once again, just in time for the spring holidays.

Before you expect a significant dent in your bank account, we have a few tips on how to make the most of the show on a budget.

– Firstly, always buy your tickets from IGA to take advantage of the discount.
– Secondly, we recommend taking the train and purchasing a Family Rider ticket for families up to 7. This ticket is only $12.60 allowing unlimited travelling for the day and saves you the hassle and expense of finding a car park.
– If you are spending the whole day at the show, bringing prepacked food is a great idea and will allow you spend your saved money on other activities for the kids to enjoy.
– Before your kids convince you to head straight to the show rides, try and distract them with some of the great free attractions the show has.
– Set a budget and keep track of it during the day! This will stop small purchases from adding up and will put your credit cards mind at ease.
