Perth’s Newest Fashion Label is Opening its Claremont Doors

Avid fashion devotee Samantha Wyllie has appointed leading Western Australian fashion designer Alvin Fernandez to drive her new, Perth based women’s fashion label, Meraki Official. Fernandez brings over 20 years of experience to Meraki Official and as Creative Director, will oversee the designs for ready-to-wear, as well as custom pieces, bridal and couture work.

The label, launching this week, was founded by Wyllie after she discovered a gap in the Perth fashion industry, for a ready-to-wear label that women can purchase without custom-made lead times. Meraki Official is inspired by the duo’s love of couture clothing and luxurious finishes, with modern statement dresses and empowering designs. Meraki Official’s debut collection features pops of fluoro colour, subtle pastels and black dresses that will become the signature ‘must-have’ item of the Meraki Official brand, with a new black dress released in each collection.

The duo will release four ready-to-wear collections each year, which cater for sizes 8-14 and additional sizes made to measure. The collection will be available in the new Meraki Official boutique in Claremont, as well as online. “I think it’s important for women to be able to come into Meraki Official and try on our collections in a fun, luxurious and contemporary environment,” says designer Alvin Fernandez.

The Meraki Official boutique is opening its doors Tuesday April 2nd, in time with their first release of an Autumn/Winter19 ready-to-wear collection.
