Lunchtime hacks to free up your weekend with the City of Perth
I set myself a challenge to get all my weekend party prep done during the week… you know ladies, your hair, brow, nails, make-up and gift shopping, so I can Netflix and chill before hitting the town instead of rushing around for most of my Saturday.
So, last week instead of eating at my desk or, in other words, participating in the most depressing workplace practice of all time, I decided to make the most of my lunch breaks and see what I could tick off my list! I’ve also included a few recommendations if you work or live in the CBD. Check out my recommendations and #productivitygoals below 😉
First things, first. The To-Do List:
- Get my hair weekend-ready
- Pick up a replacement for my favourite lippie that ran out (typical!)
- Get my nails did
- Brows need to be… on fleek
- Pick up a gift for the birthday girl
HAIR
Ok so lets tick off the most important item first shall we? Hair. We’re pretty spoilt for choice in the city with some fabulous hairdressers, I went to one of my personal faves, Head Studio on King St. No matter who I’m booked in with, they always do a good job, and I instantly feel like a million bucks when I leave. Cut, style and blow dry set me back $130 and it took about 45 minutes, I also left with some super handy tips to create some waves at home before the event.
Some other great hairdressers in the city are:
- Viva La Blonde, who you guessed it specialize in creating amazing blonde locks;
- Tao of Hair, who are amazing with colour and creating unique styles;
- KS Studio, amazing at creating effortlessly chic styles, their signature wave is so on point.
NAILS
Another quickie-beauty visit to the Library Nail Salon in London Court, hello fresh nails in 30 mins! Another super convenient place to get a mani or pedi is at LA Nails in Enex 100.
LIPPIE
Murphy’s Law, I ran out of my favourite lippie (first world problem, I know) so was on a mission to replace it before the weekend. Instead of going to my usual David Jones or Mecca, I went to try out the Lip Lab near central park. Best decision EVER, I had so much fun creating my own custom shade! I had the option of creating a matte or creamy lippy as well as being able to add some extras like SPF, lip plumper and scents. The ladies there helped me create a perfect nude shade that matched my complexion perfectly!
Hint: book your appointment on Monday, through Thursday if you want your lippie ready to use by the weekend, it takes 24 hours to set!
A GIFT
This was an easy one as there’s so much to choose from in the city. I picked up fresh juice from David Jones Food Hall as my fuel and spent my lunch break browsing for a little gift that said, “stop relax and pamper yourself”. First stop was the confectionary section at David Jones, I had to pick up some Almond Rocas, my friend loves them! Next stop was Lush Cosmetics on Hay St, where I picked up delish smelling body scrub and my last dual purpose stop was Colette by Colette Hayman at Enex 100. I picked up a super cute eye shade for her… and I couldn’t resist the sales so I picked up some jewellery for my weekend outfit too! Winning!
BROWS
For my brow fix I headed to Lash Sublime on King St where they take their brows VERY seriously! Talk to Jodie, she’s so passionate about giving her clients the best experience. Appointments take a bit longer ( about 45 mins) than some other places, but you’ll feel very looked after. What I also love about coming here is, its a one stop beauty shop. Sharing the same luxurious space with about 4-5 other skin and beauty specialists.
Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
