Food Truck Rumble: The signature dishes you have to try

Perth’s biggest food truck festival is back for its fourth time running and Sunday 26 March 2017 at the Cultural Centre, Northbridge.

If you haven’t heard of the Food Truck Rumble before (where have you been?!) it’s basically an outdoor food court on wheels (yasssss) and it’s free (double yasssss), held during Eat Drink Perth and celebrates our city’s local food truck scene.

This year the rumble will feature 30 food trucks, each serving up a ‘signature Rumble dish’, giving all of you foodies a chance to try some new and exclusive dishes! While you might not make you’re way through all 30 food trucks, you can get a taste of the epic dishes on offer below:

Banh Mi Burgers from Saigon Soul Food – Grilled pork patty plus chicken pate, house big mac sauce, BBQ rib sauce and cheese which is contrasted against the fresh slaw and tangy pickle – all sandwiched between a brioche bun!

Burrata Pizza  from Dough Pizza Delicious pizza topped with creamy burrata; salty melt in your mouth prosciutto; tangy, peppery rocket and a little bite from their house made chilli oil.

Good Fortune Sunday from LaPaletaPeanut butter ice cream, banana split, butterscotch sauce, fresh whipped cream, roasted peanuts topped with mint and a homemade fortune cookie

Honolulu Rumble Dog from Wassup Dog – Wholemeal bread filled with lettuce, chicken sausage, marinated goat cheese, pineapple honey.

Las Ramblas Loaded Fries from Get Chips or Die Frying – Oregano tossed chips, albondigas (Spanish style meatballs) with chorizo and parmesan shavings, served with a slice of fresh bread.

Cluck Rumble from Bombay Knights – Battered chicken pieces, caramelised onion, coriander chutney, rolled in Indian flatbread – bringing together spicy, sweet and earthy flavours with crunch!

Warm Waffle Bowl from Kona Joes Health Shack – Cocowhip in a waaaaarm It’s all dairy, gluten, soy free, vegan and oh so tasty!

Nutella Froyo Donut from Pash Froyo – Lawley’s Nutella Filled Donut filled with Pash Original Froyo, and topped with Oreos and a Nutella mousse.

    • That sounds great, I will check it out!

I want the Froyo STAT. Love a good food truck. My fave is the South Perth STReats set up – it’s so chill and beautiful down on the foreshore.

    • It all looks so good! I always miss this one, and this Sunday I’ll be away, so I’ll have to go next time. Looks worth investigating for sure.

    • Great posts, I’ve been going to many of the events with Food Trucks and love the variety it offers. I’ve got a few favourites, but always keen to taste something new.

    • Holy smokes! Get Chips or Die Frying is an AMAZING name for a business, and I hadn’t heard of Kona Joes Health Shack so I’m going to look that up instantly 🙂 The La Paleta dish too? OBSESSED! I want all the things. Thanks for including some vego options, too! xx
