Free Fun in the City this Christmas

Our favourite time of year is finally upon us! Here are some fun and FREE activities in to do with the Family in the city this festive season!

IGA CAROLS BY CANDELIGHT FOR VARIETY, 17 DECEMBER 

One of our favorite family events, bring a picnic rug and enjoy listening to carols by candlelight. There are also kid’s rides and entertainment, face-painting and food stalls before the main concert.

CHRISTMAS CARNIVAL, 25-26 NOVEMBER, 9-10 DECEMBER

This one is perfect for your little one with lots of free rides and activities to enjoy. Rides and activities recommended for children aged up to 10 years old. Height restrictions may apply to some rides.

VISIT SANTA’S MAILBOX

This one is a really fun one… write a letter to Santa and post it at the Holiday Inn Perth City’s  giant santa mailbox in their hotel lobby. Post if before the 15th December and go into the draw to win a family getaway package as well. One of Santa’s elves will pick up and deliver the mail, right to the big man himself – and you’ll get a reply!

CHRISTMAS MADE TO THE LEFT MARKETS, 9-10th DECEMBER

These markets are a great way to support small local creatives and businesses this Christmas. There are lots of stalls showcasing and selling art, design, fashion and homewares that have been created here in WA (on the left side of Australia). Their Christmas themed markets will be held on the 9th and 10th of December from 10am to 5pm in the Perth Cultural Centre, Northdbridge.

FESTIVE FLICKS IN NORTHBRIDGE, EVERY SATURDAY – 18 NOVEMBER TO 30 DECEMBER

Throughout the festive season you can watch some of your fave Christmas movies at the Northbridge Piazza. Grab some takeaway from a nearby restaurant and relax on a bean bag and watch a free screening of some Christmas classics.

CHRISTMAS LIGHTS TRAIL, 17 NOVEMBER – 25 DECEMBER

This year the city is doing something a little different to the traditional ‘turning on of the Christmas lights’ event and have instead created an amazing Christmas Lights Trail that will be running for the five weeks in the lead up to Christmas. Beautiful festive light installations have been placed in the streets and laneways of the city.
